Diğer pokemon filmlerinden farklı olarak kasaba ve kasabadaki halk üzerinden gidilen bir konu var. Onun dışında pokemonların insanlara olan güveninin test edildiği, farklı yerlerden gelen eğiticilerin, takım halinde hareket etmesini anlatan bir film. Naçizane eleştirim, diğer filmlerde alışık olduğumuz savaşlar ve tempo yok. İşleniş biraz daha eğlenceli olabilirdi, diğer pokemon filmlerine göre biraz tutuk bir film.
